Admission to the M.A. in Advertising graduate program at SMU’s Temerlin Advertising Institute is highly selective. Applicants are expected to have earned a bachelor’s degree. Previous work experience is desirable. While an undergraduate degree in Advertising or a related field is preferred, applicants from other disciplines will be considered. Undergraduate GPA and scores on the GRE or GMAT will be evaluated. International students are required to demonstrate English language proficiency through scores on the TOEFL or other equivalent tests.

All students admitted to the program must have taken: Survey of Advertising, Advertising Media, and Research. Students who have not completed these courses (or their equivalents) will be required to complete the courses OR pass TAI placement exams prior to, or while taking, their first term of graduate courses.
